The road to success is not straight. There is a curve called failure, a loop called confusion, speed bumps called friends, red lights called enemies, caution light called family. You will have flats called jobs. But, if you have a spare tire called determination, an engine called perseverance, insurance called faith, and a driver named Jesus, you will make it to the place called success.

A beautiful life does not just happen. It is built daily by prayer, humility, sacrifice and love. May that beautiful life be yours always.

Among friends, there is no tally sheet on the exchange of good deeds and kindness but there’s a shared memory and the assurance of more good things to come.

When you are important to another person, that person will always find a way to make time for you — no excuses.

When mean people hurt you, think of them as sandpapers. They may rub and scratch painfully. But eventually you’ll end up smooth and polished while they end up worn out.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways — in one hand is chocolate and in the other is a body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming “woo-hoo! what a ride!”

Friends are like sunsets. You may be sharing with them only a few hours of the day but they will always be there tomorrow, the next day, and the day after forever.

Give yourself a perfect day. Look upon what gives you joy. Speak to those who warm your heart. Everyday is a new beginning.

Love only grows by sharing. You can only have more for yourself by giving it away to others.

No matter how bad we think the future may be, it always seems to work itself out just fine. Life is made of moments. We have to teach ourselves to love the journey, not the destination.

realize

Posted by vanie at March 12th, 2008

by Colbie Caillat

Take time to realize
That your warmth is
Crashing down on in

Take time to realize
That I am on your side
didn’t I, didn’t I tell you

But I can’t spell it out for you
No it’s never gonna be that simple
No I can’t spell it out for you

If you just realize
What I just realized
That we’d be perfect for each other
And we’ll never find another
Just realize
What I just realized
We’d never have to wonder
If we missed out on each other, now

Take time to realize
Oh oh, I’m on your side
Didn’t I, didn’t I tell you

Take time to realize
This could all pass you by
Didn’t I tell you

But I can’t spell it out for you
No it’s never gonna be that simple
No I can’t spell it out for you

If you just realize
What I just realized
That we’d be perfect for each other
And we’ll never find another
Just realize
What I just realized
We’d never have to wonder
If we missed out on each other, but

It’s not the same
No it’s never the same
If you don’t feel it too

If you meet me half way
If you would meet me half way
It could be the same for you

If you just realize
What I just realized
That we’d be perfect for each other
And we’ll never find another
Just realize
What I just realized
We’d never have to wonder
If we missed out on each other

Just realize
What I just realized
That we’d be perfect for each other
And we’ll never find another
Just realize
What I just realized
We’d never have to wonder
If we missed out on each other, now
Missed out on each other now
Missed out on each other now
Missed out on each other now owa, owa ohh
Realize
Realize
Realize
Realize
uh-ohhh

march inspirations

Posted by vanie at March 10th, 2008

Butterflies don’t know the color of their wings, but human eyes know how beautiful it is. Likewise, you don’t know how good you are but others can see that you are special.

–o0o–

There is quite a difference between knowledge and wisdom — one helps us make a living, the other helps us make life worth living.

–o0o–

Life has many choices. If you can’t have all, have some at least. If you can’t be good, don’t be bad. If you can’t be totally happy, don’t be completely sad. Enjoy life as it never leads back.

–o0o–

Our trials are not the reason to give up but a challenge to improve ourselves. Our pain is not an excuse to back out but an inspiration to move on.

–o0o–

Something to think about: Love the sun for it warms your body, yet love the rain for it cools your head. Love the light for it shows you the way, yet love the darkness for it shows you the stars. Welcome happiness for it enlarges your heart, yet endure sadness for it opens your soul. Be grateful for everything. Just enjoy every moment for none of it will happen the same way again.

–o0o–

An inspiring lesson I’ve learned is that what counts the most in my life is not what I have but it’s who I have.

–o0o–

They say when you love someone, you need to give your trust and understand the person. But tell me, how long could you understand someone who never explains?

–o0o–

· Never explain; your friends don’t need it and your enemies won’t believe you anyway. — Elbert Hubbard
· If you’re not curious, it’s a sign that you’re stupid. — Dr. Frank Crane
· It’s better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you’re not. — Andre Gide
· It’s never too late to be what might have been. — George Elliot

gloomy wednesday

Posted by vanie at February 20th, 2008

i had a dream about you last night. a college friend of mine was with me at your office. you were there with our friends. you learned something about me and you felt awkward towards me. after a while, we were able to talk about it and you were crying while you were hugging me. you said something about being afraid that we wouldn’t see each other afterwards and i said that it all depends upon you and that i do hope that we do see each other again. we then parted ways. the “next day”, i had a feeling that you weren’t gonna show up. i woke up with that lingering feeling — knowing that you want to see me but not being able to, and just waiting for you.

the weather today jives with how i felt when i woke up. it seems that the weather is cooperating with me. it’s just gloomy.
